9am na kami nakarating ng school. My father only enrolled Lorraine because I was already enrolled. Since she was a transferee, it's her requirement to take an entrance exam. So after submitting the requirements, she was accompanied by my former adviser when I was in second year high school, Mrs. Sanchez, sa examination room. Dahil magkaharap lang ang office kung saan kami nakatambay and the examination room, I was able to hear the instruction that was said to Lorraine.
"30 minutes each test. Do not answer on the questionnaire paper. You will write your answers on these bond papers," maybe she gave Lorraine the bond paper cause there was a short pause, "are you ready?" Ilang minuto lang, lumabas na si Mrs. Sanchez.
We waited for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Lumabas si Lorraine na parang pang-kinder lang yung test. She looked inside the office (made of glass kasi yung window na nakaharap mismo sa examintaion room). I told Mrs. Sanchez that Lorraine was already done. Nagulat si Mrs. Sanchez dahil ang buong test will consume 3 hours. Mrs. Sanchez let the examiner inside the office.
"Are you really sure of your answers? Because you know what? you are the fastest examiner to finish the test. Most examinees were not able to finish their tests. Are you really sure of your answers?" Ganun si Mrs. Sanchez. Dalawang beses siyang magtatanong kapag nabibilib siya.
"Yes, ma'am. Nag-tagal lang naman po ako sa Filipino. I wasn't able to take up those lessons when I was third year," ayun na naman yung right eye niya. Akala ko ako lang makakaranas nung nakakalusaw na titig na yun. Pati rin pala si Mrs. Sanchez.
"A moment Mr. Canlas. We'll just check her test," she stood up to get the test from Lorraine. She gave it to her assistant na subject teacher ko nung third year ako sa Mathematics. She finished it after 15 minutes. She gave the results to Mrs. Sanchez and she whispered something to Mrs. Sanchez's ears. Si Mrs. Sanchez akala mo matangkad kapag nakaupo. Pero maliit lang siya pag nakatayo. Masyado kasing naka-level yung computer chair niya eh.
"Mr. Canlas, is it okay if......." she forgot Lorraine's name so I said her name, "if she's going to take another test. Don't worry, she didn't failed the test. The next test is for her I.Q." My father and Lorraine agreed to take another test.
Again, we waited for about an hour. Sa office na siya nag-test. I don't know kung bakit hindi sa examination room. Siguro akala nila that she's cheating. Lalo na lumabas si Mrs. Sanchez while she's taking the test.
11:30 na natapos lahat. Mrs. Sanchez talked to us, particularly to Lorraine.
"What is your rank when you are in your junior year?" Mrs Sanchez's hands were crossed habang nakasandal ang likod niya sa upuan.
"Rank 3," nakayuko siya, "but I belong to the special section in our school. Please don't think that I'm boasting," she lifted her head up and now she's staring at me. I was on the right side of Mrs. Sanchez's desk and my father to my left.
"Have you taken an I.Q. test before?"
"No," matipid siyang sumagot. Yun yung napansin ko sa kanya.
"Don't you know that you have a high I.Q.? Want to know?" the three of us nodded, "130. That's your I.Q. level," my father and I was shocked. Pero si Ms. Genius parang wala lang. Mrs. Sanchez continued, "Our topnotcher here has an I.Q. level of 110. You're 20 steps higher."
"Does it mean, siya na yung bagong topnotcher?" bigla akong sumingit. On that question of mine, biglang nagulat si Lorraine at napatingin sa akin. Though I was looking to Mrs. Sanchez, I could still feel that she's looking to me.
"If she will also beat the topnotcher's co-curricular activities. You know that Clarissa. We don't only base your grades on your academics. But also your activities joined at school." Bigla kong naalala na nakapasa lang ako kay Mrs. Sanchez because I joined a lot of activities.
"Well," singit ng Daddy ko. Mana ako sa kanya eh. Mahilig sumingit. "I hope that you will be successful on your upcoming 4th year life."
We left the school at 12:20pm. We headed to a restaurant and took our lunch.
