Today's present. December 24, 2009. Noche Buena sa buong mundo. Pero para kay Lorraine at Clarissa, ito's isang araw ng mga patay o higit pa doon. Both of them didn't celebrated Christmas or any events in their life for fifteen years. Lorraine wants revenge but Clarissa wants to say sorry to Lorraine.
After Luke's burial, Clarissa's life became miserable. She accepted that it's a karma for her. Tinakwil siya ng sariling ama niya. Walang nagawa ang mama niya kundi umiyak na kinalaunan ay nakipag-hiwalay sa husband nito. Her mom find Clarissa and when she already found her only daughter, they lived a simple life.
But whatever happened to Lorraine is unknown up to now. All the other people knew was that, she's a successful policewoman and that, she executed Clarissa.
Clarissa got out of her cell and went to the visitor's room. In front of her cell is the information desk. On the left side is the officer's room and on the left side is the visitor's room. She was escorted by a low-rank police. She passed by walls which are coated by off-white. As they reached the visitor's room, Clarissa took a deep breath. The visitor's room is same as the size of a classroom. It has two long tables and there were 7 mono-block chairs per table. The room has one big glass window wherein you can see who's inside. This is the only centralized air-conditioned room.
Clarissa was asked to go inside. Since she's going to talk to a police officer, the police who assisted her just waited outside.
Clarissa seated on the left side of Lorraine na naka-upo sa kabisera. Kabado siya at di makuhang tumingin kay Lorraine. Habang nakayuko siya, full of hatred naman ang tingin ni Lorraine sa kanya.
"Bukas ka na ili-lethal injection. Since you requested two things, I'm here to know them. Ano ba yon?" Hindi pa rin tumitingin si Clarissa as Lorraine spoke. Lorraine placed her arms on top of the table and she put her left hand under her chin.
"Una," nagda-dawalang isip pa si Clarissa kung titingin ba siya. But she ended up looking at Lorraine, "I want you to read this." She handed Lorraine the diary she was writing on. The diary looks like an antique one. Sing-kapal ng notebook ang diary na ito.
"Ano 'to?" she didn't take the diary yet. So what Clarissa did was just to place it on the table. In front of Lorraine.
"I made that diary a long long time ago. It's all about how we met and how you ended our friendship." She's just looking at Lorraine seriously.
"You're the one who ended it up," tulad ng style dati ni Lorraine, she looked from far away and spoke, "not me."
"But I tried to fix it. Ikaw lang ang ayaw tumanggap ng sorry ko." Clarissa reasoned out with a calm voice.
"Sorry?" Lorraine looked at Clarissa closely, "Eh kahit sino wala na'ng tatanggap ng sorry mo! Ikaw ba namang mawalan ng taong mahal mo tapos ikaw lang ang makakapatay!"
"Alam mo," Clarissa looked away. Gusto niyang iwasan ang mga titig ni Lorraine dahil tulad ng dati, nakakatakot ito, "ikaw lang naman ang may problema eh. Kung," she looked again at Lorraine and this time, her voice was raging, "noon mo pa tinanggap ang sorry ko edi tapos na!"
Lorraine quickly stood up and said, "Walang kapatawaran ang ginawa mo tandaan mo yan! At kung isusumbat mo na naman ang matang ito," she pointed her left eye, "matagal na akong bayad. At ikaw ang kailangang magbayad."
"Hin.... Hin..." Clarissa tried to hold back her tears, "Hindi mo na ba ako mapapatawad?"
Lorraine looked away again. Iniiwasan niya ang tanong kaya naman iniba niya ang usapan, "Ano pa ang isa mong hiling?" and she placed her hands at her pockets.
"Ahmm," Clarissa was disappointed. But she continue on. "Gusto ko namang iakw ang mag-kwento ng buhay mo after mong mawala."
"Handa ka bang masaktan?" Lorraine looked at Clarissa. And it looks like she pity her.
"Matagal na akong nasasaktan. Bawat araw na wala ka. Pero natatakpan yun ng pagmamahal ko sa'yo." then, Clarissa bowed her head.
Lorraine took her seat and gave a short introduction.
"Emotionally, bakit nakahiwalay ang araw sa ibang mga stars sa langit?"
