TriangGULO (Chapter 7)

"Sino yun?" and I saw that the one who's talking to me was Luke. By the way, he's our top 3. Habulin ng mga babae cause he has, no it's had, everything that a girl wishes to have. He's holding a comics. He rolled it over and stepped near to me.
"Ah, that girl?" I tried to hold back my tears cause I don't want everyone to see me crying, "She's the new scholar of Daddy."
"Really," I guess he looked on the way where Lorraine passed. I looked up to him (he's tall) and it seems like he's finding Lorraine. "Daddy mo talaga mapagkawang-gawa. I bet she's a lesbian. I heard her a while ago. And her voice is like a man's," then he chuckles.
"She's different than the past scholars of Daddy."
"Third sex?" he asked me seriously.
"Nope. She's not lesbian," I stopped looking at him and looked at Lorraine's way though I know that she was already inside of our classroom-to-be. "She's smart. Multi-talented girl and....." now, I tried to whisper at Luke, "mysterious."
"Name?" he's referring to Lorraine. You can see it to him that he's quite interested in knowing her.
"Lorraine. Lorraine dela Cruz."
"Who knows, Lorraine's might be Lawrence," chuckles again, "Let's go?"
"Where?"
"To our room!"
"Our room?" I said surprisingly. I never thought that on my last year in high school, I will be one of those geek students. I don't know why or how.
"Yes! You're my classmate. Sabi kasi ng ninang ko," his godmother is our principal. Kaya it's always said na backer daw niya yung ninang niya but the truth is, marami lang inggit sa kanya. He continued, "Lorraine needs her school buddy. Since you're your father's daughter and she's his scholar, pinalipat ka sa section namin. Aw man!" he shocked me, "I didn't use my common sense! Anyway, let's go," he led me the way.


"Excuse me," I told to the guy next to me. It's our lunch time. Mahaba ang pila sa food court lalo na sa paborito kong Pizza Parlor House. "Excuse me," raising my voice because the guy after me isn't listening.
"Ay," si Luke na naman. He was staring from afar but now he's looking at me, "sorry." He moved a little bit and started talking to me, "Can I join you?"
"Yes you may. Since, I ended my friendship to my besties," I told him what happened earlier. "Ate, eto ang bayad," sabay abot sa tindera ang bayad, "oh, and keep the change," suki na kasi ako dito. Pag kulang ang bayad ko (alam mo na, grounded. Bawas sa allowance atbp.) hindi na nila kinukuha ang kulang.
"Saan tayo uupo?" Luke asked me.
I looked around and saw Lorraine eating by herself. Napangiti ako nun kaso naalala kong kasama ko si Luke. At that time, gusto ko lang masolo si Lorraine. Maybe na-dedevelop na ang feelings ko sa kanya. Mabilis kasi akong ma-fall sa mga mysterious type of person. Pero ngayon, sa kapwa babae pa. I told him to have our seats at Lorraine's spot. We headed to where she is and when we're there, I asked, "Pwede bang maki-upo?"
"Bahala kayo," napansin kong grabe siya makatitig kay Luke.
And now, I was beside Luke and in front of him was Lorraine. Grabe talaga ang titig niya kay Luke. Ang ginawa ko, nagsalita na lang ako. "Ayaw niyong mag-salita?"
"Sorry, gutom lang talaga ako eh," Luke said. Now, he's facing Lorraine, "Ikaw pala yung bagong scholar ni Engr. Canlas. I'm Luke. Lucas Collins," he offered his hand to have a friendly shake with Lorraine.
"Lorraine dela Cruz," they shook their hands. Di ko alam kung ganun ba talaga siya if there's a stranger or what. Kung makatitig parang nag-mememorize ng mukha o di kaya naman, yun na ang huli nilang pagkikita.
"Lorraine," I broke the silence, "Luke is our top three and..." nahawa ata siya sa akin. Sumingit siya while I'm talking.
"Do you have theater here? Acting club?"
"You're an actress?" asked Luke to Lorraine but immediately turned to me, "woah, Clarissa, first day na first day may gusto na'ng sumali."
"Ah," I was speechless.
"Lorraine," Luke was talking to Lorraine, if you want to join, just ask Clarissa. She is our vice president."
I smiled at her but she snubbed me and she stared again at Luke. After a while, she said that she's going to leave. Para di naman halata, binilisan ko na lang yung pagkain ko and after that, I told Luke na may pupuntahan pa ako.
I searched for Lorraine and saw her at the garden. She was sitting on the only bench near the pond. I sat beside her but it seems like I wasn't there.
"Andito ka lang pala," papansin lang sa kanya.
"Hmmm," she picked a stone and threw it on the pond, "tingin mo, anong silbi ng bato sa mundo?"
"Para makapag-patayo ng buildings, beautification. Yun lang." I answered.
"Kung minsan, kailangan mong tumingin sa paligid mo o sa mga nangyayari para malaman ang sagot," she stood up and tried to leave me.
"Lorraine," I stopped her. Yes, she stopped. But she never looked back.
