TriangGULO (Chapter 6)

June 15, 1995, it's the first day of classes on my last loud life. I'm with Lorraine (she's always behind me everytime we're together). Hinatid kami ni Manong Johnny because Daddy left early for his next project. And now, we're at school.
I saw my three besties. They were all wearing pink jackets. I waved to them and came near to them. Pero ayaw sumama ni Lorraine. I know that she hated girly girls. Last night, I had a conversation with her. She told me that back in Batangas, she's used to hang around with boys. She hates over-acting girls. She likes to feel music but not to hear them. She hates impatient people. She hates being lazy. Among those likes and hates of her, lahat ng hates niya nasa akin na. Pero di ko maintindihan kung bakit o paano niya ako napag-tiyatiyagaan.
"O," talking to Lorraine who was behind me, "halika na!"
"Di ko sila kilala," nakayuko siya.
"That's why we're going to them! Let's go," sabay hatak kay Lorraine. Ngayon ko lang napansin, that was my first time to hold her hand. In fairness, kahit na she's doing a lot of work, her palms are so soft.
"Mary!" I shouted the name of one of my besties. Still, I'm holding her hands. And there we were, in front of my besties. Binitawan bigla ni Lorraine ang kamay ko then she holded the strap of her backpack.
"Clarissa, is she the new scholar of your father?" asked Mary.
"Yah! Uhm. Lorraine this is Mary, Billy and Charmaine. They are my besties. Besties, meet Lorraine. My father's greatest scholar," ako na ang naglapit kay Lorraine since nakayuko lang siya sa place niya at akala mo'y nahihiya but in reality, she's getting irritated.
"I guess she's also a maid," said Billy who was between Mary and Charmaine.
"Oh! What's with your eyes? Is that contact lenses?" said Charmaine and the three of them laughed.
"Besties stop it!" Actually, I'm afraid that Lorraine will show her way of being angry. Though hindi pa siya nagagalit sa akin at that time, I know that it's frightening to see her mad.
"Why? It's funny," said Billy.
At eto na ang kinatatakutan ko. Lorraine stepped closer to them and gave them an angry look.
"You're wearing jackets but it's hot. You're treating me like you know me already. You've got the guts to speak English where in fact, you're all wrong in grammar," I don't know if she's already mad or still irritated.
"Wrong grammar? Do you know what you're talking about?" asked Charmaine.
"Oh! What's with your eyes? Are you the one who is blind? Can't you see that only one eye is blind? So, why did you use plural noun? Is that contact lenses? Is is only used if the word is in singular form. I wonder if how you cheated all the way here at high school," that's pure English again. It's enough to show her that she's really smart.
"Ang kapal naman ng mukha mo! You don't know who's you're talking to," said Billy.
"I know. But yours are thicker," she took one step closer to them and stared madder than before, "There's a karma waiting for you," again, I saw her devilish smile.
"Enough!" I said just to cut it off. "Let's go, Lorraine."
"Stop accompanying me," then, tinignan niya ako on her left side but still showing her back at me, "I can do it without you," and now facing my former besties, "tabi!" sa sobrang inis siguro kaya she bumped into them.
"Sino ba siya sa akala niya!" galit na si Billy.
"Bagay yan sa inyo! She's better than anyone else here," I told them.
"Talaga?" pang-aasar ni Mary.
"She's better than Macky! She's the queen of versatile. Satisfied?" this time, irritated na talaga ako. So, I leave them and I think that's the sign of ending my friendship to them.
"Huwag ka na'ng sumama sa amin!" shouted Billy.
I stopped and shouted back, "Talaga!" and continue walking.
I ran after Lorraine and I found her upstairs walking seriously. I shouted her name but she never looked back. I made it fast and at last, I was able to face her.
"Bulag ka na nga, bingi ka pa!" (Lorraine, if you're reading this, I'm sorry for that moment. I wasn't able to control myself.)
She stared at me. Suddenly, she said, "Di ako bingi. Naiirita lang akong kasama ka," sabay walk-out.
I remained silent at my position when a guy came to me and asked, "Sino yun?"
At that moment, I felt like crying but I tried to hold back my tears.
